A year and a half ago I went searching for a way to showcase my photos from a trip my husband and I had taken with our family to Alaska. What I stumbled across was a new way to scrap my photos and turn them into a showcase to be enjoyed for years to come. I had done previous photo albums with the traditional scrapbooks, using papers, embellishments, and stickers to fill up my pages with our trip photos, but along with digital cameras and digital photo editing software has come digital Scrapbooking, a great way to save photos and preserve them for our families without damaging the photos. It’s also easy to go in and change and redo them, if I choose to, as my knowledge of digital scrapbooking improves.

In my searching for the best place to try digital scrapping, I came across an album that had been done by one of the owners of the Scrap Girls site, Rozanne Paxman, and I became intrigued enough to follow her to their website ScrapGirls.com. I’ve become addicted to it as much as I have been to learning more about digital photography and learning how to use my camera better, in the years previous to that.

The Scrap Girls newsletters are now the first thing I go to in the morning, to enjoy with my first cuppa the day, as they appear in my inbox before I wake up and are full of inspiring and wonderful layouts and tutorials by the fantastic staff, headed up by owners Paxman and Valerie Randall.
